Shape with drill and rasp sanding attachment.
Hi: Just want to share my experience building artificial rock wall and terrace. It's made up of pink styrofoam from home depot. Epoxy kit from West System. Lots of 99 cent paintbrushes and a bag of playsand. It's not so difficult but just takes a lot of days to since it has to dry overnight between every coat of epoxy/sand.
Shape with drill and rasp sanding attachment.
Melt away and smooth out surface with blow torch.
Create expoxy mixture and mix in laundry color dye available from any supermarket. I used brown, black, and yellow. Paint onto project and sprinkle sand. Let dry overnight. Repeat 3 to 4 times. For bottom and back, just epoxy. That's it!
Silicone project to glass. Let stand three nights. Photo: Also starting on rockwall..
Wall after finish. Prior to install
Finished product after 5 days of curing...

Now thats just sexy.... ur fish are smiling. love the last pic.
just one question about the air pump in the 4th pic, what type is it. Iv'e seen some on http://www.jehmco.com/PRODUCTS_/HARD...air_pumps.html
and i was thinking about getting one i hoping to eventually set up a small fish room and was thinking of getting a small blower. But then it say those and thought it better to get one similar to yours (linear) or a jehmco diaphram air pump http://www.jehmco.com/PRODUCTS_/HARD...air_pumps.html
the only draw back i'll probably have is if I ever need to repair it, i'll have to send it back for repairs , as i'm not living in U.S., and iv;e never seen either or the linear or the jehmco diaphram pumps out here as yet (JAMAICA)
Thanks in advance.
It's a Sweetwater SL22 linear air pump. It's quiet, efficient (20w), and reliable. It's been running for close to 3 yrs. It's definitely worth the investment.
tnx ...... how many tanks/filters/airstones are u running on it?
btw.. what size tank is that? (in the pics)
125 Gallon showtank in the pics. Fluval 404 with in-line heater and Aquaclear 500 Filter. The air pump is supporting 8 tanks (30-55 gal) two air stones each tank for the sponge filters.
thanks ....
