I believe they are around 6 weeks. I'll ask the breeder to confirm though.

They were curious on day one but then they messed up and had a bite. LOL ADDICTS! Sure did, the breeder sent a video of the parents, heckel male and turq female. Im excited about the outcome as these are from the first batch of babies they had. Hope all is well!

I generally have 2 each 4 shot espressos every day so thats my caffeine fix.

I have no idea. My last heckel crosses were about 3-3.5"s when the 5th bar was more prominent.

lol, we'll see. The 2 largest have a slightly darker 5th bar so I assume it will be more prominent as they develop.

Rick, I ordered 10 of them and received 11. Not all of them are what I would call nice but about 8 of them are growing nicely. I'll surely remove the ones that I don't like as they grow out. ;)

Cos, I did get to see the parents. I posted a video of them in another of my threads. You can't see the (turq) Mom too well but you can see the Heckel (dad) well.

Ah, I was wondering, thought you might have been thinking I bred them. Its tough getting a batch of 12 each 1-1.5" fish and having half of them turn out very nice. Much easier growing out an entire batch of fry and culling heavy IMO.

13 weeks. This is just after a water change. They went 7 days without a water change and 2 feedings a day with Mal's FDBWs while I was up in Germany.

Thanks Josie. Its interesting how these are shaped. I was looking at a tank of full grown wild caught heckels and the shape is very distinct.

Looking good, Eddie....all of my Heckel X's have matured into very round fish,strongly influenced from the Heckel genetics.It also looks as tho' they throw the same in their fry..These of yours will obviously do the same...good luck with them..Gary

A few. LOL My absolute favorite is one that has a broken hard ray on its dorsal. Its not completely broken off, only bent to the side. I think it was damaged from transit. Its not a big deal as the fish will still grow nicely. I'll get a shot of it in the coming days. ;)

Thanks Pat. None of them have heckel characteristics, maybe a little. Also, NONE of them are similar. lol The tiny runt of the group (literally 3 inches) carries the best traits. Go figure...smh

LOL, I highly doubt it but possible. Wilds have strange growth patterns.
