$50 an't bad for two 4-4.5" fish. Although they are a little stunt and less then average looking they at least look better then some LFS discus. If you don't care about them being a little stunt then go for it. With proper care they may actually grow nicely.

I agree. I picked up some severely stunted fish not to long ago(2-2.5in @6mo) and I have gotten an inch growth on one in 3 weeks. So you never know. If you like em buy em. They are your fish not ours!

Definitely. Not great discus, but they're healthy and low-priced.

Sometimes I wanna scream.... They are stunted, and there are so many GOOD suppliers out there my friend, quality of stock is the key to success in this hobby. If you like them dont get me wrong do what you do, but those wouldnt have even stopped me if I was looking over craigslist. I personally would rather see you buy slightly smaller fish for the same amounts or less and eventually have absolutely beautiful fish, and easily even my fish if bought would match the size of those fish within a few months, where those fish will most likely not grow much beyond where they are. And even if they did, it would not make up for the genetic flaws that seem apparent as well, whoever bred those fish didnt know a whole hell of a lot about what they were doing.

I'm with you on this one. Not sure why anyone would recommend buying fish that are sub par. The price is low because the fish are sub par so that doesn't make the price a great deal in my book. Yes, some stunted fish will continue to grow but.............some will not and most will not reach their potential. Why take the chance when there are so many suppliers of great quality discus. JMO

The price is very reasonable and it could be a good way for you to experience taking care of Discus, you can learn from each other and later you can get some higher quality Discus. If you don't plan on breeding, showing or care about the quality they are fine. Look I have a whole tank In my house (out of public view) that I call the "short bus tank" and those are some of my favorite fish are they are not going to win any contest but neither am I LOL.. If you like them then get them but understand that they are just pets and not the greatest examples of Discus but with that said its up to you.......Josie
