How to tell if you have high quality Discus

Can you guys tell me how to know if you have good quality discus.

Good coloration acording to strain

So do you think my discus are good quality or are bad quality?

ur discus are not high quality. i see some football shaped discus the PBs got more pepperthan iwould ever want to see but depending on actual age and how much growth they have left u can have some ok to decent discus.use these as a learning experience. read up here check the university section to see how discus are graded so when u buy more u know what to look at for quality discus

The second picture might be an okay fish, kind of hard to tell from that picture. Some of others as Mike said are not so hot.

After looking at the NADA 2012 pictures you can try judging the fish using NADA's judging sheet.

To get a better opinion you should take some better pictures.Right now it looks like average to below average fish.Peppering and starting to football on the PB's.Keep up on the water changes.Nothing I feel can turn a fish around like lean water.

+1, less than average and the pictures aren't great. In the first picture, the fish is barely visible. The second picture, the fish is small and showing full color and pattern which is typical of stunted fish. The pigeon bloods are heavily peppered and the fish in the last picture is quite oblong.

It's a learning process. I used to look at pics in the Simply University and see if I could guess what the judges were going to say.
