Discus tanks!

Do you need to keep discus in 55+ gallon tank because they need the size to move around or because 55+ gallon provides enough freshwater so that the discus won't foul the water?

A minimum good number of discus in tank is 6, and 6 discus will not do well in smaller tank than 55 gallon.

I'm guessing that you read or some one recommend to you a 55 gal tank, well that's the reason.

Of course you can have a 1 or 2 or 3 in smaller or bigger tank, but again discus do better in numbers of 6 or more.

The only exception is when you have a pair, then you can put that pair in a 20 gal or 29 gal tank.....
