Hi all
I’m going to give this a try to see how it works. It's a unit that you can buy at Lowes or Home Depot; the shelves are rated for 350 pounds. The top tank is six feet high for breeding and the lower is for quarantine.
Here it is after leveling

Secured to the house frame with 3" wood screws

Will each shelf handle 350 lbs? If you put 29 gallons on each shelf, that's 260 l bs per shelf, 520 total.

Yikes.....not for me. No reason for this a good double tank stand can be purchased on Dr. Fosters & Smith for a good price. I take it this is one of the shelf that have the locking plasting clips that the adjustable stand slips over?

Yes each shelf holds 350 lbs, both tanks are full already and no issues.

While I think the shelf will hold those tanks, I personally would not have gone this route.
I think tying it to the wall and adding plywood on the bottom is a good precaution but it's just risky IMHO.
I see a nice DIY wood stand that the tank on the right is sitting on. I am curious why you didn't elected to go with this route.

Interesting, My mom has some of these in the house and she piles all her caned food on them. I like those other racks you can get that are more like gorilla racks.

actually i used one of these longer ones to put my 33 gallon fully stocked with gravel and plants, of course with discus too before. but what i did was bought 4 pins from home depot and drilled a hole into the legs and sleeve of the shelf. it held fine for 3 years before i had to retire fishkeeping. that $6 dollars of pins gave me piece of mind and lots of sleep.

The pins are a great idea thanks, I do daily water changes and haven't had any issues with it.
