My unexpected day off started when I reached under the laundry sink to get a bbs container and discovered water on the floor.

The fitting on the right was leaking on the top right. This is at the rafter (ceiling) line just to the right of the laundry sink.

Not sure if the soldering was bad, knocked it loose when I put this up,

though all this was done 2 1/2 weeks ago, or perhaps we broke it loose a bit when we mounted the faucet.

Anyway, got a new elbow on it before noon and played with fish the rest of the day. Cut deeper grooves in the net rack to fit around the pipe before I reinstalled that.

Glad you got it fixed buddy. Sorry for the damages though. Hope nothing of value got damaged.

Good thing you caught before water was making its way thru the fish cave.

Glad it's fixed and done now. Though that puddle of water is a dwarf compared to what I spill on the floor during water changes. :)

I consider myself lucky. Didn't even get any of the throw rugs wet before I caught it. I had bought one extra elbow just in case I needed it and it was still sitting on the work bench waiting to be returned.

Good thing you didn't get around to taking it back

Plumbing arrgh. I like the new plastic pipe with the shark bite type fittings. No need to sweat the joints. Copper is a lot less expensive though.

That is one way Keith to get a half day off to play. Glad you caught the leak early and was able to fix it quickly. Bet you spend less time on the fix then I did cleaning up my flood from this Monday past.

Probably, I think I only had a few gallons on the floor. How much did you spill?

Guessing 10/15 gallons. Enough to soak every towel in the house.

Shop Vac, you need to add one to your got to get list. I only used one or two towels on mine. Actually I made a bigger mess when I turned the water back on with the faucet on the pipe I'd just fixed wide open. Sure blew the bread I had stuffed in the pipe right the heck out.
