I've tried dry erase markers and Sharpie Peel-Off China Markers (http://www.amazon.com/Sharpie-Peel-Off-China-Markers-2173PP/dp/B000BQS168).
Both are hard to read.

What do others use?
My LFS has neon colors, I should ask them what they use.

I have some paint markers. Don't really care for them much though.

I have used 'sharpie' permanent markers in the past and they are hard to wipe off with just water and a paper towel but I just used a razorblade and it comes right off very easily.

I use dry erase low odor markers made by Expo.

I have seen the ones in the pets shops that you spoke of. They seem to glow. I don't know what they use.

Permanent Marker. It comes off very easily if you will use one of the sponges that has the scrubbing pad on one side.

^ Thats what I use except I just use a razor blade to scrape it off. I found that dry erase markers come off a little too easy if you accidentally brush up against the glass with your shirt but to each there own I think both work very well but I just like the permanent sharpies because I can't accidentally wipe it off. I don't use the sharpie peel off markers just the original sharpie permanent markers.

Good old fashioned grease pencils also work.

China markers come in bright colors, like white, red, & yellow which are opaque & highly visible.

I honestly thought you meant markers from China and then I thought I should look that up. LOL!

A China marker is a real thing! :D Looks like a grease pencil though. Is it grease? What's the marking material?

Thanks for the tip! I might like these better.

It's like a crayon, wrapped in paper with a pull string. Glass artists use them while grinding & polishing glass, which is a wet process, to mark the areas where the glass needs to be worked. Waterproof, but easy to wipe off.

So can you find China markers at craft stores?

I've bought them at office supply stores and at Harbor Frt. You can probably find them at craft stores, and maybe art supply stores.

Btw, do not let the paper wrapper on them get wet because it swells up.

I picked some up this afternoon. I'm not impressed. I'll stick with markers.

I have black china markers, and they are hard to write with and see. Found them at lowe's.
I'm gonna ask The Fish Place next time I'm there.
