SUN CANISTER FILTER 6 MOTHS OLD HW 302 CANISTER USED IN FRESH WATER TANK IT WORKED FLAWLESS FOR AROUND 5 MONTHS IT TAKES SPELL IT WILL BE WORKING FINE AND THEN IT STARTS SUCKING SOUND LIKE WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE ON FILTER FILL IT WITH WATER AND IT HAS AIR IN IT AND YOU HAVE TO TURN FILTER UPSIDE DOWN AND SHAKE IT TO GET IT PUMPING AND GET AIR OUT OF SYSTEM THE RED O RING IS NOT BAD IT DOES NOT LEAK EVEN IF YOU LEAVE FILTER UP SIDE DOWN I MAINTENANCE CHANGE AND WASH OUT HOSES AND THE TOP PUMP HEAD BY FLUSHING WATER THRU IT AND CLEAN FILTERS EVERY 2 WEEKS MAX. I THINK PROBLEM IS IN PUMP HEAD OR TOP OF FILTER DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE TOP OF FILTER PUMP DOWN BY REMOVING THE PHILIPS HEAD SCREWS AND SEPARATE IT TO DO ANY MAINTENANCE ON PUMP TO CLEAN IT OR CLEAN IMPELLER ? AND MAINTENANCE TOP PART OF PUMP BODY I ANY ONE KNOW

If it is only 6 months old and you are having issues, it should still be under waranty. Have to tried to contact the company?

I don't have good things to say about sunsun. Mine was fine for 6-8 months or so then started to suck air and leak, turned out there was a hole burned through the impeller housing into the electronics.

If it is only 6 months old and you are having issues, it should still be under waranty. Have to tried to contact the company?

its not the way its hooked up it installed correctly its something internal impeller/or a clog or some type watter restriction
