Hello everyone;

Have a couple of questions would like some help.

1. Can i keep 2 Discus in a 12 gallons fluval Edge planted tank?

2. Are Discus fish compatible with black shadow or ghosts and small algae eaters?

3. Have api stress zyme and chlorine and amonia remover, wich one should i use or both ?

4. Do 50% WC / day, is this ok?

5. I use bottled 5 gls tank for water changes is it ok?

If this is all based on using a fluval edge the answer is no no no. 2 discus in a 12g tank is an impossibility.

Discus are schooling fishes.. So count of 6 is always preferable.count of 2 that too in 12 gallon is not advisable though.

The only time I have two in a tank is when they are paired. Otherwise not normally less than 6.

So i guess from your opinions that i'm not going to be able to handle Discus because my main problem is that my other choice is a 3,200 gls which i'm honestly trying to avoid since temperature and PH problems for what i've already read in previous post.

As you would understand keeping a 3.2k gls tank above 83F would demand a lot of energy even though I live in tropical weather, because energy cost here are crazy compared to US and our normal water temperature is not above 75F.

Thank you all for the advice, I'll think of something soon to get a discus tank up and running because for what i've learn these couple of weeks with this specie is that it is very demanding and kind of a challenge thing to do and definitely it has got me very anxious to ,

When you mention you have other choice which is a 3200 gal tank, do you have that tank or planning to get it?

Have one, it's a custom built concrete and glass for a living room.

Been running for almost 19 years.

Lots of kind of fresh water fishes have been in there but no Discus.

I'll try to upload a picture once i get home.

Here are some pics of the 3.2k gls tank

Those big fishes you see there have been there forever. They came about 3 inches big. We had 7 and now there's five since about 6 month ago when 2 of them died with no more than a week from each other.
