Beautiful sight, Pat. You can't stop them lol... How do the water parameters of tap water compare with those of the RO mix in terms of Ph and hardness?

Hey Mauro, the tap/RO pH is about 7.2, GH is 4dGH, TDS 80 or so. The tap Ph is about 7.8, GH is 9dGH and TDS 230s. You can tell the full up tap affects the spawns. The spawns are smaller with more white eggs, about a dozen vs 3 or 4. Hatch rate is far less too.

Pat - full tap water and they are still pumping out spawns - must be in the food - what are you feeding them? lol

Hi Bud, they are spawning but are eating the eggs about 24 hours later which shows me they are not happy with the water parameters. Seems once wild fish are turned on it is hard to turn them off except for resting perhaps. Food wise they get flake, Al's FDBWs, frozen brine shrimp and live red wigglers.

There's no stopping them.... Good work I like seeing the wild post just wish we had better acess here. It's all about the water and stable conditions.

Ah Geez Yun, that would mean I would have to go get smart on what is happening here vs being a victim of pure dumb luck. Now here is an observation, Len who is a moderator here has multiple pairs breeding at the same time with his wild fish. That is not happening here. Len's water is as far as I can tell is way more conducive to wilds breeding then my water. I also suspect Len is better with his WCs then myself. I need more water storage capacity.

Yeh it can be annoying. One day I'll set up QT facility and import a batch it is just alot of $$$$ and the demand for wild strain isn't too great unless you find the right die hard discus lovers.
