They are cleaning off this sword leaf. I am really excited and put peat in the filter and am using RO for daily water changes. I talked with Discus Hans today and he thought my set up would be great long term as long as I keep up with the water changes and observe how they are doing. He was incredibly helpful! We did not talk about breeding though! I do have a spare 40 g available. I feel as though I have not left the tank in the 2 weeks that I have had them.

They are 4 inches. The smaller two are 3.5 inches.

Generally when discus pair off in a community tank you're better off letting them spawn a couple of times to allow them to learn to defend their eggs etc. So my advice would be to keep up on the WCs and sit back and enjoy for a while and let nature take its course.

Thanks I will do that. There are eggs! I am not expecting anything but am so thrilled.

First questions are whether or not you have a true pair and if so if the male is mature. If the eggs make it 48 hours and you're quite lucky you might get answers to both questions. You should either have wrigglers or dead white eggs at that point.

I am not sure how old they are as I am brand new to discus. A few hours ago some of the eggs were clear and some were white. I saw the parents tending to them but I think they have eaten them all or the rams ate them. The last ones to go were the clear ones. It was still very exciting!
