It would work fine pumping water to the tank, pumping water out not so much....you really want to stick that thing in your tank?

i vacum the water in to a 32g brute and pump the water to the sink or into the yard depending on what tank im doing, just looking for something to speed the process up, the one im using now is just to slow, takes about 12 minutes to pump out 30 gallons

For what you are using it for these pumps are great. I have one in each of my storage barrels. I have the 1/2 hp models (2,500 gph). I would spend the extra $20 for the bigger one. You'll be glad you did.

I have a similar one like that. I use it to drain tanks that have no fish in them. I also use it as a stand-by pump for my house sump pump in case it fails during heavy rains. Keep the basement from flooding . . . But I would never use it in a tank that has fish in it. You don't want to use any pump that has oil in it, so a mag drive pump is the best.

That pump is oiless.
