I have been using Crystalprofi 1501 for about a year with no problems. That tank size is 5 feet long by 2 feet height by 18 inches wide.Recently I intend to keep another new tank of the same dimension for wild discus fish only and there are Crystalprofi 701,901 available as well as Eheim classic 600,350 and Hopar UVF-3328 in a LFS. My question is which is the best one for a five foot tank in terms of filtration, maintenence of the above models .Please do advise.

2217I agree. Our 2217 is excellent. The only thing it needed that wasn't included in the box was the better spray bar.

Which we picked up from a site sponsor for a great price.

I agree with the previous posters. I don't know anything about the Hopar, but the Eheim has excellent filtration and doesn't cost much to run. I have both the Eheim 2217 and a Fluval 305 running on one of my tanks and prefer the 2217. I am just about to get another one for another tank I am setting up.
