You should not do that. Use the term "vacation" in the forum's search tool and you will find all information you need.

Maybe you can use a automatic feeder, they're not expensive and you can schedule feeding periods; are very practical devices ;)

No need to feed ADULT discus during such trips. This can lead to ammonia poisoning. This question has been answered many times. Please, folks, use the search tool.

I've left my discus alone with the light off for more than a week before without feeding them and they were absolutely fine when I came back. Just don't feed them and turn the light off before you leave.

Agreed. No need to feed while on vacation. Any feeding risk ammonia poisoning from their own waste. Adults can go a month without eating and will not even lose weight.

:bandana: Mine did just fine with no food while I was away on holiday for 11 days. Fed them well the day before leaving. The day of leaving did back to back 80% W/C's & all was well when I returned. They were hungry but they were fine. "T"

I am leaving for 10 days. I am going to do 100% WC before I leave and hope for the best! I've never had to do it like this! I have 6 at about 5.5" in a 50 gallon and 4 at about 4" in a 30 gallon. Hope they will be OK. I am thinking about having somebody drop by just to check on them, but I know they will have the urge to feed them.

I have done this twice in the past with no ill effects or bad water. I did a 95% W/C the day that I left on vacation though, and then did the same thin the day after I came back...........

24 day for me. Planned vacation, feeding up to vacation time was 2 times daily for adults and water change 20% every 3 days. Day before leaving cleaned everything and did 80% WC and watched them via IP cam while away. Had a buddy pop in once a week to make sure pump/heater was working and that's it. Came back to healthy/hungry dicsus. No loss.
