Not trying to be an *** but it is of average quality at best. I probably would not breed it. It has a little to much pepper, bad hard rays in the dorsal, the mouth and nose structure is poor, and the bottom fin is a little off. It looks like you have done a good job with the fish, but it was never going to be more than average.

peppering is completely gone once in the white tank?
and could you please elaborate on the rays in the dorsal fin as well as mouth and nose structure
ps no offence taken i want honest opinions as well as knowledge for myself about how you formed those opinions

About to head to work but real quick....A discus is suppose to appear round, so anything that takes away from that is a fault. Look at the rays on top. Do they meet the dorsal in a way that makes a nice smooth round appearance? No they stick up above the dorsal. On the mouth/nose area it is the same kind of thing. From the forehead to area under the mouth. Is it a nice smooth curve? Nope. You have a dent between the eyes and the bigginings of what we call a chickens beak with the mouth. It is not a bad fish. It is simply a fish of average grade. On the color. That color would have rated better 10 years ago but improvements in PB's have come a long way. The reason they have gotten better is that most breeders don't use fish with mucg peppering.

Your welcome and like I said above it looks like you did a good job with the fish but not all of them grow into show fish.

What I thought... Besides once the fish is in the lfs water anything can happen.

Where does your LFS get her discus from? One reason we recommend our sponsors here so we know where the discus come from and many of our sponsor have a proven, track record of providing quality, healthy discus and excellent customer service.

Segrest is a distributor so they are probably bred in Asia.
