Thanks, John, my first real full batch that I've been able to sell. Of the 50 that I got, I've sold all but 8, after my wife picked out her favorites to keep. It's very gratifying to actually sell fry after spending so much time on them. Obviously I'll never recover my investments, but that wasn't the plan anyway LOL!

Thanks. My plan is to populate my 125 gallon with these Stendker Tefes, a single strain. The closest domestic fish to the wilds. Right now I've got the two parents, plus about 12 juvies in the 125, and another 8 from the original batch to sell. The second spawn is about 100, 1-inch. And this will do it for me for a while breeding discus. It's a LOT of WORK!

I bought 9 on Saturday and they are doing great so far. The trick he showed me of sticking the cube of FD BW to the tank glass is a great idea. I only do a half cube and it makes multiple smaller feedings a breeze.

If you haven't done business with Don you should, he is a pleasure to deal with.

The key was you packed each fish seperately, with oxygen, many would not have taken the time to do such a good job.

Don't pack it in, your setup looks great and the fry are super hearty.

The pair and the fry look awesome in that tank. Was the pair the only discus in the 125 g? Do you keep that large tank just for the pair and their fry? How will you keep from having more? Separate them? I'm growing out six and thinking ahead.

OC, the pair and the best 11 from their first spawn are in a 125 display. They've laid eggs a few times, but they never got to the wiggler stage because there are a lot of other fish in there that like to eat eggs, such as a pleco, some cory's, and a bunch of rams. So, the pair will probably continue laying and losing their eggs. When I'm ready to raise more fry, I'll put them back in the 29g. But raising fry is a big time commitment, not sure I want to repeat it right away, I've got to get rid of about 60 of their second spawn still.

On a really pissed off note, I shipped 20 fish to California on Monday, guaranteed overnight, USPS Express, and they didn't get there. Now nearly 48 hours out and STILL not there. Not looking good.

Well, John, what can I say? From Virginia to California, and earlier with a shipment to Massachusetts, and to Florida, I was given, in writing, a promise to deliver next day, by either noon or 3pm. This was USPS Express. On the shipment to CA, I got a full refund of the $108 I paid for sending 22 fish. I'm going to start a thread on the issue now.

Just wanted to post a quick follow-up on my shipment. Don shipped 14 tefe fry from the latest batch to me a few weeks ago. I'm way up in Massachusetts and he did a great job. All 14 arrived safely and all 14 are still alive, thriving, and growing well. They are voracious little guys! They'll eat anything and everything I offer to them with excitement.
