Could it be Glosso? Glossostigma elatinoides?
Anyone uses carpet plants with discus?

I can't make it out very well, but it is either glossostigma, or more likely HC I.e. Baby tears. It's not that it can't be kept successfully but, I wouldn't for a couple of reasons. It needs quite a bit of light to remain healthy and spread. It otherwise grows higher and thinner, your Discus will not care for bright lights.

Discus like grazing the aquarium floor for left over food, and plants like this tend to hide the food and contribute to water issues. Those Amano style tanks are awesome, but I always like to remind myself that after the impressive picture is taken, the plants don't stay that way without a ton of maintenance which is another thing your Discus can live without.

Thanks Frank. I am actually trying to make it look like a pathway, i wont cover entire aquarium, just certain part.

Go for it, it's easy to pull out if you decide you do not care for it.

I had a terrible time with this in one of my discus tanks due to high temp.

I have read from other discus keepers that they have been able to maintain it at 84 degrees without issue. I am referring to HC.

See the following thread which I created a while back for reference.

I have marsilea minuta and marselia quadrifolia and both do well in my 82-86 deg temps

thats def glosso.

they need high light and lots of co2/nutrients to carpet nicely and stay low. with not enough light it will grow taller. and with no co2. it can take long for it to take off and or grow nice.

not sure what your current temp is. but healthy discus dont need that high heat. for a planted discus tank in my opinion 80 degrees is perfect.

its glosso for sure. I agree with nikond70s, lower the temp in your tank to 80-82 and your fish and plants will do fine.

The picture is really not clear enough to determine exactly the plant. My discus graze well on and off the plants. Amano style plants are up keep but if skilled, with eco-scapes, and fish balance, what an amazing bio-scape of living art. Plants are living so the maintenance will very as the plants grow, much like kids. Most plants do not like temps of 85 plus, but many will do fine between 83 and 85 although may not like it.
