Very nice Allwin. What are the room dimensions?
Thanks Jeff, its a small room 8*12, as a initial setup, planning for 4 -20G, 1 - 75 or 55G and 3 custom tanks or 4 - 10g as the ceiling is low on this room.
And some plans to add racks as Phase II.

Looking forward to the finished room buddy. I would go with the 75 gallon for the lower tank for grow-outs and the four 20 gallon in the middle rack for breeding pair. The top shelve can still put 4 more 20 gallon if you consider removing the ceiling panels on top of the rack. You can move the breeding rack against the corner wall on the left side of the room and the remaining space should be enough for a three tier shelve for three 40 breeder if the measurements are right. If you send me the measurement of the remaining space I can confirm the size of tank you can put there. If not you can always do a 18 or 25 gallon cube that should fit there. Finally, you can put a dual 75 gallon on the other wall to complete the room. How ever you decide to go with it's going to be great see it with tanks and Discus. ;)

Food for thought. 10 heaters, one big or a bunch of small air pumps , tank lights and a water change pump. The 15 amp outlet in the room will have other rooms on the circuit. See what else is on there. A 15 amp breaker is rated for about 1800 watts before it trips.

Might think about covering those ceiling tiles in a clear plastic so you don't get mold or condensation on them. Might also look into getting a dehumidifier.

The best way is to run 2 sole use circuits to the fish room. If not doable find a outlet on a different circuit breaker and run a heavy duty extention cord to feed some of the heaters. Don't use the sump pump circuit.

Check Best Buy for the dehumidifier. I know it sounds weird but that's where I found the best deal. I don't have the plastic because I don't have ceiling tiles that are porous. Mine would be a bit more complicated but it's just a flat ceiling with a coat of paint. My dehumidifier doubles as a heater too so expect that room to be very warm. I close the AC vent off and shut the door to keep the heat trapped inside. In the winter I have to empty it at least once a day. In the summer it's not quite as bad.

If that dehumidifier can be set a a set temp then there's no need for a heaters in each tank. You can have a sect room temp at 82-84 degree plus it's removing moisture from the air...

I've never seen the option to set a temperature. I said it doubled as a heater because it heats up the room just from running constantly.

Some dehumidifiers you can take out the collecting pan and put a piece of hose on it. Allwin since the sump pump room is right there. Have it go into the sump pump tank and you don't have to empty the water.

Don't know about u guys but think dehumidifier uses too much power I'll rather use the Panasonic bathroom vent and I think heating a room to 82-84 degrees isn't comfortable to be in room I'll rather have room heat to maybe highest 70-72 degrees and have heater in each tank to do rest

Just googling it, whether it helps removing the moisture as dehumidifier does? And how challenging to fit in a room?

I'm planning on using the 29 gallon so I can section 1/4 of the tank with poret foam. That 1/4 section of the tank will be where I put the heater, sponge filter, UV, and AC70 running full blast without causing lots of water flow in the breeding section, while still getting the water filter. Also fry will have easier time attaching to the parents without all other things in the breeding section. I don't know if this will work but it's just something I want to try and see if it will work as well as I think it will.. ;)

Allwin

New S attempts are always good to know and good luck on it.. But the poop from the parents on the other side still needs the manual cleaning right and whether the wrigglers are big enough compared to pores in the poret foam? Still, moving heater/uv/sponge filter gives clean spawning site..

You are right. The feces will still be there and that's why I plan to clean that section normally as I always do. The idea is to have full filtration going on the tank without creating a lot of water current in the breeding/spawning section. I actually have this setup in my 20H with no issue. Fry had easier time to attached and I can move the poret foam to limit the amount of space for the free swimmer to find the parents. I end up doing this because my female continues to eat the fry. I was only able to save 8 fry that is currently attached to the male for a week now, while the female is on the other side.

How do you like that bottom tank being so low?
How do you drain it?

Nice buddy. Congrats... How's the hatch rate for you? I notice my hatch rate from tap water isn't good since this winter. Hopefully it gets back to normal.

Thanks, still working on these guys for a successful spawn, having issues with attachment :)

Looks like lots of activity in your fish room Al, definitely curious to see the count on albinos produced. Keep us posted with pics..

My buddy Kal-el helped me with automatic drain in most of my bottom tanks. The one you saw in the video is a temporary tank and i siphon it manually :) Sure, i will keep u posted if i had successful spawn..

Since i started breeding after a while, i can comment for the last month :) red melon hatch rate continues decent but reduced comparatively. Eruptions which I'm working on needs RO now, which produced wrigglers on tap before. Same water change and feeding routine(BH mostly). Even i kind of doubt the tap water.

I enjoy watching some of these video's, so sharing it :)
Watch @720p or higher for better clarity.

Cobalt's - Interesting to see how dark they can go off normal.

Sorry for the poor video. One of my fav pair for its intense red pattern. But challenging parents and no suitable foster parents for this spawn. Let's see how they behave this time :)

Better yet, Install one of these humidity sensing exhaust fans: http://www.lowes.com/pd_379192-69305-7131-01_0__?productId=50045753 These work great! Once the humidity level rises above 60% (you can adjust the setting) the silent fan goes on and exhausts the humidity. Better than wrapping the ceiling tiles in plastic, which only traps even more moisture.
