My husband Bill is struggling for life right now. Major surgery today to try to save him. So far, so good, but a long way to go. He is getting high quality and very excellent care at our local medical center, only 12 miles from home. I have our two adult children with me, that helps a lot, very stressful times for me indeed.

I have just sent out lots of cone orders this past week. I still have some more to make, or finish up, and get them out as soon as I can. I could stop all this for awhile I know, but it helps to keep busy and have something like clay work to keep me from dwelling only on illness and the hospital. So I will continue to crank out the cones and caves, but may be a few days later than my customers were told when they ordered. I know you will all understand.

If you care to, please send a kind thought or prayer for my husband, Bill Odgers. He is 77, and a USAF retiree with a whole lot more living to do. Thank you,
Barb

Your kind comments are so much appreciated everyone. Thank you so very. I just left ICU where he is for now. There are a few tiny signs of improvement. He has about a 15" incision on his abdomen, liver biopsy led to infection and many more problems. It all stems from his gallbladder surgery 5 years ago, that was almost fatal. He is like a cat with 9 lives I think. Here is a pic of us taken just last month while we were on a Caribbean cruise. How things can change quickly. Make the most of every day, you just never know what can happen the next day. Thank you all, please keep the good thoughts coming, he is a long way from out of danger.

Bill is much better, he will eventually come back home to me! After 9 days in ICU, now he is slowly recovering in the surgical ward. He will need a rehab. center for awhile just to be able to walk again. I am so relieved and once again I say thank you to all who offered prayers and kind thoughts for us. I will let you all know when he comes home and can again watch my discus and angel tanks.

Wonderful news Barb. Those rehab centers can work wonders. My mom had her lower vertebrae in her back fused together and the center helped with getting her up and mobile, and shown us how to help her with her daily needs, and even help make modifications to the house to help my mom do things like take a shower. The center will help Bill to be as independent as possible. Continued hugs Barb.
