What kind of discus!

Big eye, thin body, triangular shape.

The fish actually really isnt that thin and is probably only about 3-3.5 inches, ive read up that big eyes could be a sign of a discus that grows at a slower rate and and isnt always necessarily stunted. When looking at the body of a discus, do the shape of the fins determine whether or not it is shaped like a triangle

Mixed,peppered pigeon blood.Possibly stunted.The peppering is all the black spots around it,not desirable.

Not saying it isn't possible for it to recover, but if you're starting with a single low quality fish (blue turquoise & pigeonblood mix?) that prefers to be in a school, in a less than ideal grow-out environment, the chances are slim. A planted tank is better for 5"+ & gravel is not ideal for any size discus.

If you want to try to make this specific discus not look stunted, you should consider a bare bottom tank, a variety of high quality foods & daily water changes of at least 50%, if not 90%. If you want him happy, he needs at least 4 friends in a 55 gallon or larger tank.

It looks like a pigeon, and it does look stunted, you may want to try putting a white background on the tank to help get rid of some of the peppering.
