I have just bought my 1st discus :)
After getting them home and settled into their tank I've noticed that one of them has an orange/yellow colour to its eyes, the others have red eyes!
Is this a problem with the fish or just a poorly bred fish?
The fish in question is a Marlboro red ( if that makes any difference)

Do you have a pic of it? It is most likely not a problem as long as both eyes are the same color.

Hi,

I am new in the forum but from the experience by visiting LFS, i have noticed red, yellow, grey or patches of black spot. Just wonder if there is any issues, will like to know from experts bro/sis here. :)

Red eyes are prefered, but they may also be yellow/amber. It isn't considered a defect.

May i know is there any reason for the eye to have different colors and what does it indicate any meaning?

Thanks guys, will post a pic when I get chance, he has some peppering on him too, and with the eyes not being red I was just wondering if it was a problem, but he's settled in now and is eating ok, so hopefully he'll be fine :-)

Just FYI, i found another thread with the answer to my question on what it meant to have red rims,

The redder your discus' eyes are is usually a sign of health and vitality.
