im looking into getting a eheim canister filter. i just want it to focus on biological filtration. would the Pro 3 2075, Pro 3XL 2080, or the Pro 3e work best? and what does this decision have to do with water flow of each of the filters. ive read a little bit but im just guessing the Pro 3XL would be best because of its space to load with biomedia.

55. I was thinking of going all out and getting a pro 3 XL because of its capacity. Does that sound right? I want to get one for a well stocked African tank. As of right now all it has is a reaction 4 and could use a very nice boost. Also thinking on putting one on the discus tank

I believe the Eheim Pro 3 1200 XL is rated for like 300g . Think major overkill on a 55g not to mention mega water movement. Maybe Eheim 2073 or Ultra 90 might be more in line. "T"
