Adding new Discus/Pecking Order Time

I am fairly new to keeping Discus, I was wondering how long it takes for the discus to establish a pecking order. Also, once they have established the pecking order, and you end up adding more discus, does that process have to happen all over again? It seems unlike any other fish I have kept they are relentless in setting their boundaries and letting certain ones swim in certain parts of the tank, mainly the middle. Thanks for your help in advance!

I would say about a month maybe two for the pecking order to reset, but it only resets when you add a more dominate fish. A ALPHA In one tank may not be a ALPHA in another..........

I have see a pecking order get established in just a few days, once they settle in it will start and when new fish are added it will continue.
