Recently swapped out my old 120g acrylic tank for this 115g glass tank. The old tank was nice but I have to say I am much happier with this tank and the discus seem to explore more in this tank as well.

Enjoy the photos and let me know your thoughts.

The old tank.

Thanks! The longer I keep discus the more and more I simplify. I don't think I will be adding many more plants outside of the jungle val.

Thanks! It's multiple pieces painstakingly arranged to look like one giant piece haha

I remember your old tank! Good to see you on here as well. Looking good.

My only suggestion? Try to follow the rule of thirds concept. In this case, scooting your whole display just a tad to the left, would make it a more appealing setup. Make it so that it extends towards the front right area more than the back part or middle.

Just a suggestion of course, either way I think it looks great.

Thanks for the compliment! Glad to be back and more active on here.

I appreciate the suggestion, I personally like it a little off center though. I went back and forth on whether to push it all the way to the left or not and after seeing it like that I wasn't as happy with the flow as I am with the current setup. It gives the discus a little more room to swim on the left side of the tank and allows them to easily turn around to head back the other direction.

Makes perfect sense. Everyone likes their tank a certain way. I will subscribe to see your progress. Will the RSG's eventually end up here you said?

Yeah I plan to put them in once they get bigger. Right now they are still about the size of a half-dollar so it will still take some time but once they grow out to a size big enough to hang in there with the others and compete for food properly they will join.

Thanks! Only having discus and cory cat's make it easy to keep it clean.
