Cascade 1500 on a 55 gallon long

I'm considering picking up one of these bad boys for my 55 gallon long. It's designed for a 100-200 gallon tank.

It will run in tandem with the AquaClear 50 HOB filter that I currently have in the tank.

Complete overkill but my real question is, will cycling 350 gallons per hour in a 55 gallon tank even be OK for the fish? Will I see any significant water quality improvements or will it just be wasted effort?

Nothing is better than water changes as far as quality. But I think you'll still be ok just watch the fish if they don't like that much flow turn it down
