Yes, sad but true. I was taking down wallpaper, we are getting ready to sell our house and move in a few months, and I stepped wrong on the little ladder I was using. I fell hard on my right knee and now I may have a torn ACL or other soft tissue damage. MRI when the swelling goes down. I am using a wheelchair and crutches for now and am very unhappy. No pottery making for awhile.

Sorry to hear Barb. The good news, well not really 'good' since you are still hurt, but an ACL tear can be fixed :). It will require surgery and rehab, but if you take it easy you will do great!

Please stop doing things like that Barb!

Seriously though, my best wishes for your speedy recovery - and no more injuries!

Thank you all for your kind messages. Turns out it is a torn meniscus, will take 4-6 weeks to heal. Hopefully no surgery. I better get used to my crutches, wheelchair and Bill's scooter. Hope I can do pottery sitting down. I will try. How can a couple little things in the back of the knee hurt so much when stretched or torn?

I hope it heals soon! Those things seem to happen at the most inopportune times.

Aw, Barb, you're the last person this kind of thing should happen to - sincerely, I almost shed a tear reading your post - I could feel your pain.
It'll take a little time to heal of course, but you'll bounce back and be feeling like yourself again before you expect it.
All the best to you.
