View Full Version : 20 yr old discus breeder cone...bubbling..is this safe??

I found an old breeder cone my dad had in the garage. Its giving off tiny micro bubbles non stop since I've put it in 10mins ago. There are no air pockets underneath the cone.

Could this be some chemical reaction or something? is this safe??

Think I might remove it if this continues....

LOL, it is becoming re-saturated with water, should be fine. Most likely it's semi-porous

LOL.. i thought that may be a stupid question. But 2 weeks ago I tried this new contact lens solution and it was making similar bubbles. When I put on the contact lens it was a burning sensation like or worse than pepper spray.

I had one red eye for 4 days ...LOL.. I hope my discus don't get red eye like me. :)

It's funny how the bubbling breeder cone gets more responses than the Discus Slime Coat post (lol).

I doubt the clay went bad on the cone but you may want to wash it thoroughly for dust.
