Is this light too bright for a 110g (48x18x31)? Its 10,000k

I have that same exact light, I havent put any new discus under it and the tank its on is to house Cardinal Tetras, but the ones I had under it nearly got startled to death. IMO too bright, it is even a bit excessive for a non CO2 planted tank.

EDIT: Actually that model isnt quite the one I have, mine is the LED Pent model with 180 LEDs, this one is a bit weaker but only by half. Still a little much for discus.

I recommend using one with all 6500k LEDs so you can adjust the brightness a bit, the blue LEDs have little value IMO but if you like them go for it

if you set it to low, it is a nice dim light. The two settings allow for you to get your fish used to the fixture more easily and it is a fairly cheap one at that

Try something like this:

or this:

I use these on some of my tanks and they work well and are cheap.
