Hi everyone, for those of you out there that keep and maintain a wild amazon biotope, i have a question. with the insane water changes needed with keeping discus, how do you maintain that blackwater look without thinning it out with water changes?

You can stain the water with rooibos tea. Add a little to a fine mesh bag and pull it out when the water is the tint you want.

limit ur water change to once a week. there are many alternatives to blackwater. u can use oak leaves if u have a park nearby. indian almond leaves, peat moss by the pounds be sure to buy the organic ones boil and use the water. peat granules in a mess bag. its not to expensive. especially if u have a small tank.
