Pressurized CO2 Plus Liquid CO2

I recently posted a thread, saying I'm a "CO2" newbie, thanks for the help thus far. Until I started adding pressurized CO2 to my tanks, I had been just using Liquid CO2. It appears that the manufacturers of the liquid CO2 recommended using both forms, pressurized and liquid in tanks, would that be overkill or is it ok to use both forms? Or are the just trying to make a sell?
