I am setting up a new tank for discus. 75 gal. bb, fulval 406 filter. I posted in the general forum but no answers. Guess I posted in The wrong area. Anyway, another question, should I get a uv filter. Just filled the tank yesterday and will add air stone and heater when they arrive in a couple of days. I am going to get a test kit today and will not add fish until all the tests are ok.

Hi slp and welcome to Simply. If you do some research I think you will find with the recommended water changes we do a UV filter is really not needed.

Thanks. That will save me some money that I can put toward discus purchases.

Using a UV filter is like chicken soup. it can't hurt. some use them, some don't
