It's a discus, not a chameleon (jk). It brightens and tones down a bit, not too much, with mood, etc.

The reason this works so well is that the DA is decended from a Silver Pigeon x Blue diamond... Using a Colbalt won't have the same effect due to the bars and it not holding the non recessive gene like a BD does.

After following along on this, I wonder if the color would be even more extreme if a neon sapphire would be using inplace of the blue diamond?
