My 93 Gallon Tank Setup!

So I bought this 93 gallon on Tuesday and set it up for cycling on Thursday morning. I am so excited about this since it will be my first discus tank! I already have a massive bio bloom since I seeded the tank. My ammonia levels are pretty high, and I can't believe how fast its cycling! I've never seeded a tank before and I have to say its pretty awesome. Stay tuned for pictures and updates. Its gonna be fun ☺

I completely fishless cycled my tank in 9 days using a bottle of Dr. Tim's Aquatics bacteria and a bottle of Tetra SafeStart. Fed the tank with ACE ammonia daily to raise ammonia level to around 2-3 ppm. Got a huge spike in nitrite level (purple/magenta in the API test tube) around day 7 as ammonia level started to drop. By day 9, both ammonia and nitrite dropped down to 0 ppm while nitrate rose to 20-30 ppm.

Already since seeding my tank and adding marineland aquarium bacteria the ammonia has dropped from 4.0ppm to .25 ppm over the course of 48 hours!

That's to be expected since your bacteria are consuming the ammonia. You need to continue adding ammonia daily to keep the level from dropping below 2.0ppm. Start checking for nitrite several days from now. It's a good sign when your nitrite test tube turns purple or magenta.

From your local hardware store. The ammonia from the grocery store usually as surfactants in it. If you shake the bottle and it foams do not use it.

I just went to ace hardware and bought that ammonia. I don't have any nitrites yet either. How long before nitrites should start appearing?

OK great ☺ I'm getting impatient now lol. I was fine for a few days which is the longest I've ever made it for a fishless cycle.
