I am in rural southern Maryland near the coast visiting my daughter and the place is full of Ospreys. There are man made nest boxes everywhere, some near the water, some in the water and along roadways. You go outside and you can hear the ospreys calling none stop all day long. The adults bird are busy catching fish to feed their chicks with most nest boxes containing two chicks. Here are some pictures of the parents with chicks and some adults in flight. Photos are not the best but not bad for my first attempts of catching birds in flight.

BIF shots are some of the toughest shots to capture! You did a great job here Pat. I'd be very happy to have taken these

They are all really cool pics Pat! Like this one the best though..the wings, feathers and eye!

Osprey are great subjects for photography...predatory birds that are comfortable living close to humans, they often completely ignore us. I have seen them carry away fish so big its just amazing.

Thanks Al, this is definitely some of the harder subjects I have shot so far and many of the pictures were dark. I just had to take advantage of the opportunity while I was here.

Nice! I use photo shop to edit. Have to give light room a shot I think!

It's basically the same chassis, same basic tools and editing capabilities however Lightroom tends to be a bit easier, and is pretty streamlined for a real workflow process in a single program. Lightroom is more efficient basically. After seeing Pat's real nice work I am currently trying to teach myself more about Lightroom as I too use Photoshop.

Pat you've done an excellent job with these and overall in your LR editing! I'm impressed.

Thanks Matt, I am thrilled with how these photo's came out especially when I first pulled them off the camera.

Rich, I was a total newbie with Lightroom when I started on these photos so it is super easy to use. I opted to buy a standalone copy of LR6 vs taking a monthly subscription for the photoshop/LR6 combo.
