This is my new 5ft discus tank. I have been keeping discus for about a year and bought this as a major upgrade to the 150L I had before. I got it on Sunday past It was bought as an established setup, It wasn't looked after great I don't think based on the condition of the plants and some of the fish are a little emaciated. They are in a good home now.
I added a few bits to it, namely LEDs as the lighting wasn't great - so It's 470 litres with Fluval Fx5 filter, 3 bars of LED White and two T8 tropical bulbs in tropical. There are 15 discus in there (largest is around 5 inch) and 2 large plec plus a couple of smaller fish from my last tank. Still figuring out the strains - Turqs, Pigeon Blood, Cobalt and albino in there
I am running at 28.5 degrees C, using 'special blend' as the starter culture and today treated the tank with fluke and worm to hopefully sort out the emaciated fish as they seem to be behaving normally and feeding on a mix of Tetra Prima, Tetra Discus Pro Flake and Frozen Beef Heart
