Ok use to keep marines so not novice bit I use uk tap water my clorine on tetra ph strips that u dip in water then change colour is reading no clorine do I still use tap safe . And does water conditioner really work . Or strate from tap in to tank ph is 7.5

Do you know if your pH swings up or down after 24hrs? If you do not know, I would suggest trying this test. Get a cup of water, test the pH, add an air stone to it, next day, check it again.
