What To Use For Aging Water

I am currently using a 44 gallon Rubbermaid Brute Trash Can purchased at Home Depot to prepare my water, and I am concerned if any harmful substances are leaching into my water. On the bottom of the barrel is the triangle with the number 4 in the center. Below that it says, "LDPE". I have heard of "Food Quality Barrels" and am wondering in that's what kind of barrel I should be preparing my water in. Thanks in advance for your thoughts. Have a good one.
