Hello all. I'm interested in putting a discus plant tank into my optometric office. The office is located in Irving, TX (the DFW area). Question for those of you in the DFW area how do you condition your water so that it is prepared for the discus? I have had a reef tank and do have a RODI system. Should I use RODI water and then buffer it? If so what product should I use to buffer the water?
Thanks all! ~ Paul

Paul,

Do you know your tap water parameters? The first thing to understand is your tap water. RODI is rarely needed these days for domestic discus (wilds are a different story) and it's recommended to NOT tamper with water parameters unless you are attempting to breed discus or, you are keeping discus directly from the amazon. Test your tap water for GH, KH and pH and let us know what your readings are.

The should have read safe OR prime. Wish I could type. You can use whatever you want that will properly handle Chloramines.
