The North American Discus Association is pleased to formally announce our 2016 Discus Show hosted by the Midwest Discus Association in Chicago Illinois July 7-10, 2016.


This is a unique opportunity to see and meet distinguished Discus speakers from around the world as well as see some of the best discus from all corners of the globe!

Of course, there are the social aspects also.

The Midwest Discus Association has been working hard to make this the most amazing show yet, and I'm more than confident they can do it!

My strong recommendation to you Rick and everyone else is to book your hotel rooms now in anticipation of going and cancel later if need be. We got great rates and only blocked rooms based on the average attendance of the prior shows which I think we're going to blow away. We can get more rooms added to the block if they're available, but the earlier we know we have a space problem the more likely we can do that.

One question though, in the registration info, there is an option to buy a breakfast for $23. Is this some kind of deal on the hotel's breakfast buffet or is there going to be a breakfast event?

This will be a NADA show event. We are still working out the minor details, but I think it will consist of an informal round table Question and Answer session with all the show's speakers. Additionally, James Perrenod of Discus "R" Us has graciously agreed to donate a $250.00 gift certificate (good towards the purchase of any of their fish) to be drawn from all those that attend the breakfast (must have purchased a breakfast ticket and be present to win, only one winner).

I just registered and reserved my hotel room. I'm so excited for this event. I can't wait to see all my discus friends and talk discus!

And yes, that no good Willie, my "fish husband" (long story) will be in attendance. We all missed him in Austin in 2014.

Are there events scheduled on July 7th? Sorry if I'm missing something, but it looks like show events start on the 8th. Is that right? I'm considering options for number of days, etc. My wife would be with me. does she need to register for everything as a separate attendee? Thanks.

You only have to register if you are going to go to hear the speaker. The show itself is free. The 7th is pretty much the setup day. The functions really begin on that Friday. As it gets closer we will be posting the schedule. Hopw y'all make it.

I'm looking at flights and wondering if whether or not I should fly in on the Thursday or the Wednesday to be rested for Thursday and help you guys with setups. Please let me know.
