In case you haven't received your first dose of winter yet, here's a reminder of what it looks like.

There were 11 inches on that table a couple of hours ago, it's been snowing pretty good since then, and it isn't expected to stop for another hour or so last I heard. Oh, and there was no snow on the ground yesterday afternoon.

Wow, you're living in the wrong place, Keith - LOL
I've lived in British Columbia since 1980, and I've never seen anywhere near 11" of snow either in the lower mainland or the Okanagan in all that time.
Of course, you live near Manitoba, and I was born & raised in Winnipeg, where I did often see that much snow fall in one day ! Great if you like winter activities or sports.

Aghhh. We had a bad winter on the east coast last year. Supposed to be warmer than normal this year. That can go either way though.... rainy ( I hope so) or lots of snow that constantly makes a melting mess and horrible to get around. My wife is pregnant and due early spring so I'm not sure if we'll be able to get south this year to get away from it.

Looking at the Intellicast radar it should be over in an hour. I don't remember the last time we've gotten this much snow in less than 20 hours, but then again the memory isn't what it use to be.

Yep, cold front coming through this weekend. Gonna dip down to 72 on Monday. Might have to break out a jacket.

Keith,
I hope you didn't shovel too much! That stuff is wet and heavy. We only got 6 inches here, but the tree limbs are coated and sagging, some broke.
Take care of yourself and don't overdo it!

At home I barely lifted a shovel, but the new snowblower I bought last year certainly got a workout. My old one never would have thrown that stuff from the center of the two car driveway to the lawn, but the new one ate it up and spit it out pretty good. Did shovel a bit at church after the snowplow driver left a pile outside the front door, but just took it slow and steady.

Loved that first picture, Keith. Just plow around the Weber Performer, put your shorts on, and grill up some burgers! LOL.

You can forget about the shorts Don, but there's no month I won't grill in. There's nothing like a Thanksgiving turkey cooked on a Weber. It frees up the oven for pies and important sides too.

This is the point where I'd like a little bit of snow for the winter, just enough to enjoy for a little bit and then have it go away for good. It's still hitting the 70s here some days, usually sitting around the 55-60 mark now. They say this will be a colder/wetter winter than we are used to so I may actually get some snow this year. I think the state of SC is soggy enough though the last thing we need is more precipitation of any sort. We still haven't dried out from the major flooding in October, and are still getting rain consistently. If we started getting snow and ice things would be dangerous as everywhere you go it's wet still, seeping out of the ground.

I saw the title and got excited to think this was a Game of Thrones thread, lol.

I'm sorry it is so bad everywhere else. I wish we got a ton (quite a few tons actually) of snow on our mountain ranges here in SoCal.
