Mine as of Saturday is 7.2, is that too high too low? I have been neutral PH where it's suppose at 7.0. If I want to lower my PH to make it more acidic, can I use the Seachem Acidic buffer? I'd like it to be around 6.8. IS Discus Buffer worth it or not? I've Googled is and come up confused about it.

My suggestion is to just leave it alone. Lots of discus have been killed by a well meaning owner that decided to jack with the ph.....Also 7.2 is not too high.

7.2 is dang good. but a "good" PH is not really important. a steady PH is what is important. its is likely your fish were raised in a similar ph if they are domestic. I would leave alone the chemicals and trying to buffer your PH, you will only end up making a good thing bad.

I've found that, over time, a good-sized piece of driftwood will safely lower pH by around .5 or more, if you really feel you want it below 7.0
You might also get similar results from using some peat in your filter, but you'll also get the tannins that go with it.

But don't use any chemical buffers as John & Jacklyn have said.

7.9-8.1
And I breed domestic and wild.
Just in the high ph you may fight parasites if they start.
I beleive it was Jack Watley that use to lower the ph slowly to cure from parasites.

Since discus have been bred over and over domestically with higher pH, they have adapted. Use what you got they will be fine.
