I feel silly posting to the forum when I don't have a single fish to my name, but I want to do well by the fish and myself when I do get them and not make any preventable mistakes that will have me posting in the emergency room.
It seems like there is a clearly defined protocol for growing healthy juvies. The breeding stage is where you can play mad scientist
It looks like a lot of work , shortcuts don't seem to work
So with regards to flukes, In a tank which contains only discus, bare bottom, which come from a reputable source, Is it a good idea to deworm once or twice a year just to be sure?
In other words, Do all healthy fish have some amount of parasites encysted in the tissues? For instance I know that even the best dog or cat breeder is advised to deworm the female before during and after pregnancy, and the babies as well.
On the other hand, a fish tank is a more controlled environment (I hope)
