I am surprised they are still alive, I treated them with meds, killed all the plants and bio filter, they lived through all kinds of spikes in ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Almost killed them with too much CO2. So far not a very relaxing hobby. Due to CO2 stress, biggest fish has his cloudy eye back. Its now been couple weeks and filter seems to be working. I have a question do Discus get darker at night?
Tank has now 90% less plants than initial pic shown,be easy on me!962089620996210962119621296213

They're probably stressed from higher co2 levels at the end of the day. That's if you're still injecting co2.

Be easy on your CO2 because you suffocating your discus but the choice is yours. Its your fish afterall

White sandy substrate instead of brown would look nice and not that deep too,try getting rid of those pond snails.

How do you get rid of those snails,I was hoping the worm plus would take care of them!I believe wormer plus does not get the eggs so the come back after a few days. The best way to get rid of snails is to get some Loaches. I got some Clown Loaches and still see an odd one.

Do Discus change color at night, night I got in late 1:30am and looked at tank, discus were dark, do they change at night? and some leaned sideways, hence panic for the newby and 50% WC at 1:30 am. Of course room lights came on and when finished fish looked like they woke up and thought it was dinner time and looked great.????? having a hell of a time!

And by the way all parameters were good before water change and drop checker was green.

Do you turn off your Co2 unit at night?

Snails most likely came in on the plants. It is always good idea to look over all the leaves and stems for globs of snail eggs. rinse them on tap water at the sink and remove them then. I will tell you Snail-B-Gone will work for both eggs and live snails but I have never used it with Discus it is Copper sulfate and it can harm some plants. If you choose this route proceed with caution.

Anybody here had ADVERSE reaction using Snail B Gone with Discus or Copper Sulfate in general?
