I always fasted my mbuna for 24-48hr once a month. Is there anything I should watch for or be concerned about with fasten discus?

Yea...

Them taking your hand off next time you go to feed! Haha!

Nah, I "fast" mine each weekend usually, unless I pop in the office... My fish are at work, so they are fed all week then a big change friday and left alone till monday, they do just fine, nothing to worry about in my book

I have never fasted a discus in my life. While it does not hurt them I doubt it helps them either.

I don't fast and certainly don't want to so why should I do it to my fish. Never made sense to me.

Thanks for the reply John I too feed twice a day beef heart and sometimes treat with FDBW or white worms.
And for the fasting I do not.
If it is meal time I expect to eat.
Makes no sense to me not to feed the pets.

Sorry for the minor hijack, but wondering, John, about your fry. Once they've left the parents and living off of BBS and, for you, I assume beefheart, how often do you feed them?
