Weather today is rainy and grey, but the Ferns were just asking to be photographed so I obliged. They really are an amazing plant,

I really like the last photo Al. Can image a small dinosaur peeking its head thru the stems. We had a huge storm last night. I bet the resurrection fern has swollen up.

Very nice set. I particularly like the first one as it has the drop coming off it in a very nice manner. TFS

Appreciate the feedback! It was a dreary day and I was laying on the wet ground to take the pictures. Had an umbrella resting over my head and camera trying to minimize water on the gear. The k20d I shot with is water resistent with weather seals...however thats not saying its water proof. My main concern was my lenses being older were not. Getting moisture in a lens can lead to fungus and ruining a lens. Most of these shots were therefore taken with inexpensive lens...an old 35-70 mm macro(retails for about $50) and an After market 100mm macro 3.5 (retail $100). Not my best lenses but they really do a nice job still.

Great group Al. I really like the last one. Pat took my words right from the page, looks like an alien world.
I also like the third from the last, but to my eye, it would be even better if the white stripe across the middle could be toned down or not in the image at all.
Nice macro work, the focus is tack sharp.

Those are really cool photos. They remind me of something you might see in a Miyazaki movie.
