hey guys. Been growing out a few discus. They are about 2.5 to 4 inches long. Ready to move them into my main tank. The water conditions are very similar, but the TDS there is about 500 ppm difference due to me fertilizing it (planted tank). Is this going to be a problem?

They are still too small to move them in a planted tank.
They can get stunted or maybe even get sick in that environment.

When you do transfer them , do not dose no3 and po 4 , but just micro ferts. since they are less of a bother to discus than macros.
TDS is not that important , even tho 500 is way to much.

Ahhh good to know. What is the best size to move them into my planted tank then?
Will dosing with out po4 and no3 lower my TDS?

I would grow them BB with lots of WCs and feedings at least until they reach 4.5 inch. Then you could move them to planted with better success rate.
Definitely cut the no3 and po4 dosing and then measure your TDS. If they are still 500 maybe you can try a mix with RO water if you have Ro unit.

Thats what I am doing now. They are in a BB 45 breeder tank. Feed them 3-4 times a day and 50% WC every other day. GROW FASTER!!!!;) Dont have an RO unit. Have seen some ones for fish tanks tho. Might look more into that.
