Caught these two gopher tortoises about mid-morning. The male was so adsorbed he did not even notice me. He was actually making noise he was so intense.

Female "Little Red" in her burrow the prior morning.

I call the male "Big Gray"

These gophers are wild and live on my and surrounding properties Poppa. I have actually know them for years. :D

I love these pics. We have a lot of gopher tortoises around here to and I'll drive a little out of my way to check on a burrow by my house. I call it checking on my dirt pile. I have the same name for all of them- Mr Slowski's

Cool looking Tortoise's(?). I really love that first shot. You would think that the leaves in the top left would be distracting but they add such a cool element to the shot.

That first shot is not cropped Ricardo. I love that shot. :D

Awesome! Such a cool critter to host on your land. These are the tortoises that act as landlords to pretty much everything else out there right? Bunch of different animals use their burrows....watch out for snakes Pat! lol

Thanks Matt, I like snakes :D and yes, a bunch of critters use the burrow. A couple years ago some were home to some fox kits.
