Once again....flowers. They are just abundant to shoot, and easy. All handheld, while attached to the tripod lol, after bringing it in from shooting the birds in the bird bath. Really happy with how these turned out. No artificial lighting used (hard to believe I know, looks like a studio even to me looking at it now), and no artificial black background used. Also, the stems are really that blue/purple hue. Bottom flowers are Canna Lillies.

That is some of the most gorgeous lighting I have seen in a while. Even recreated in a studio that would be hard to pull off. Very well done Matt.

Thanks!

I was thrilled the way it came out! Wasn't direct sun, sun had just gone behind clouds but it was just enough peaking out to nail it perfectly. I wish I could prove it wasn't a flash or artificial light now that I see it....you could fool me and I'd probably argue/bet on artificially lit. I guess everyone will have to take my word for it lol

Pat, I adjusted the usual suspects in post with RAW (contrast, shadows, highlights, etc) so those did darken the background some for me, but for the most part natural shadows and good bokeh did most of the work. Behind the orange flowers is a screen porch with a light black screen covering it and of course it being shaded. I shot in between the wood holding the screen so that just the screen was my background. I didn't specifically color the background or cut the flower onto a background.

LOL

Glad I shot them yesterday, they were dying and wilted today. The heat here is unrelenting.

Matt,
Simply Beautiful! It is hard to believe the lighting ...but I believe you! :) Those are shots that you can definetly call winners! The last one would be printed if it were mine!
