Nesting in the darndest places

Was visiting my parents the other day . They have a covered deck with your typical plant stands and some plants. Robins made a nest on the stand...not even in the plants. Usually these birds nest in bushes and things like that. Snapped a few pics with my phone. Have to be careful as they can literally jump out of the nest if they get startled.

They could give you some nice photo opportunities in the next few weeks Al unless you rather keep you distance.

Pat, its tempting but I dont want to risk spooking them.or the parents... its a small deck...not much room for a concealed set up. Its hard enough not spooking themin the day to day acess to the porch there. Best to let them be in this case.
